Something...Interesting?

As I said last night, I will post somethin mildy interesting today! Though i'm sure there's only one person who will possibly read it, but that's okay with me. Anyway, this is just a short story that was never finished, but maybe with a little inspiration, I will find the want to continue it at some point. It's a werewolf story. Something I started about two years ago..then got bored with it, as I do with alot of stuff I write. There are alot of errors, but if you want me to continue, just say so. Oh, and there's more of this story that I wrote down, but I don't have it with me, I let a friend borrow it to read, so..try to enjoy! I'll find some more stuff later on.

Izaick cried out as a clawed hand slashed his back. The pain soared through his every nerve, but he kept running through the darkness, being chased by creatures so powerful, so fierce, it could only be the one thing his nightmares warned him of. Werewolves. He could hear their vicious growls and noises as they chased him. He knew that they could easily catch him if they wanted to, but they were playing with their food. They were having fun chasing him. Making him afraid.

I’m gonna die. I’m gonna die. I’m gonna die. Was all Izaick’s thoughts could register. He actually thought he heard one of the creatures behind him laugh. Then, the bad got worse. In the pitch darkness of the thick woods, Izaick missed the large stump protruding from the earth and tripped over it. He hit the ground hard.

No! God no!! He screamed inside his head, waiting for the unbearable pain of claws and teeth ripping him apart, but it did not come. Instead, he opened his eyes to find the pack of werewolves surrounding him, pairs of yellow eyes glistening all around. Then, one by one, they all morphed into nude, human forms. Three of them were men, and the other two were women. Each of them wore the same black band around their wrists, and when they pushed a button on the bands, clothes instantly appeared over their bodies. Izaick was completely baffled, and still in shock. Words could not form in his mouth.

You’re probably thinking ‘What the hell?’ , am I right?” Spoke one of the guys. He had loose black hair that fell over his eyes, with one unusual white streak of hair over his left eye. His masculine form showed much power and ability, which could easily destroy someone, human or not. “Let me introduce myself. I’m Xavier. Lead wolf of Sector Three. This, “He pointed at the each of the three men beside him “Is Elius, Colbert, and Simon. These beautiful ladies are Rachel and Courtney.” He introduced the two women to his right. “And Simon apologizes for attacking you. He thought you were a snack.” The man called Simon made a small laugh, followed by “Sorry, kid. Didn’t mean any harm.”

Izaick was still dumbfounded, but managed to find his voice. “Wh..what do you want?”

Ah, yes. A pack of wolves couldn’t be chasing someone and not killing them without a reason. We, or I, see potential, great potential in you becoming a wolf. You are strong, powerful, fast. You’d make a marvel-“

No. I won’t.” Izaick interrupted. “I’m not going to.”

Xavier paused for a moment, then continued. “It’s an honor to be asked to become turned, and not forced to be, or killed instead.”

Izaick too this as a threat that if he would not give himself over politely, then they would take him by force. He stood, slightly shaken. “You can’t make me. I..I’m not going to be a monster like you people.” He took a step back. Xavier and the others remained still. A slight breeze blew past them.

Ha..is that what you think of us? Monsters? We’re just another species on this planet. Our race was once dominant of it, but then Humanity sprung forward and shoved us into the corners. Human society wants to believe we’re monsters, so that they have a better excuse to control all that is not theirs. For decades we’ve been trying to gain back what was once ours, but with little success. And so we’re breeding and recruiting more to increase our population, so that one day, we will conquer again.”

Well, I’m not going to help you. You can find someone else to recruit. I’m not becoming a werewolf.” Was Izaick’s reply.

For a moment, he thought he saw a flash of annoyance on Xavier’s face, but then it passed. “Look, we’re doing this out of desperation. You’re lucky we need you or your insides would be outside right now. There’s not too many people in this world who can manage being turned into a werewolf. The weakest of them will become so afraid with their new form that they commit suicide. Others are too wild, and they show their wolf form to the public, and get slaughtered, or taken away to some laboratory. But you, you are just perfect. You’re strong enough; you hold the spirit necessary for a true, tame wolf. Our race means no harm or danger to anyone, unless that’s what they’re asking for. But this is out of true desperation that I ask, will you please join us?”

This time, Izaick did not instantly refuse Xavier’s request. He thought for a while as the people in front of him waited for a response. “But..but what about my family? Will I see them again? What if I can’t control my hunger? What if I do something...”

Don’t worry. You will be able to continue living with your family, and with such a strong spirit, the last thing you’d be worrying about is cravings.” Xavier replied. “So, is that a yes?”

Izaick thought some more. Once he said yes, there would be no turning back. The human, normal life as he knew it would forever vanish. “I, um..”

The pack waited eagerly for his reply.

Izaick remained in thought for a few moments more, then said “I...guess..so.”

Wonderful! Okay. Meet us at this address tomorrow night around eight. Okay?” Xavier held out a piece of paper and Izaick took it, then replied “Alright..But, is any of this going to hurt?”

Not unless you want it to.” And with that, each of them pressed the button on their wristbands, exposing their nude bodies, and morphing back into their furry forms. But just before Xavier morphed, he said “See ya tomorrow, kid.” And then they were off, howling through the night.

Izaick was left with a piece of paper with an address on it and a sense of bewilderment. A pack of werewolves had just come up to him -without killing him, although accidentally attacked- and asked him to become a werewolf to help bring dominance back to the werewolf race. He read the address on the paper that read:

10214 Covert Street

He put it in his pocket and headed for home. A half hour later, after much struggle navigating through the dark woods, he reached his house and got in. His parents were asleep in their bedrooms, so he could silently retreat to his room without drama and retire to sleep. But before that, he took a nice, hot shower. When the water ran down his back, he winced in pain, remembering the incident not too long ago. Izaick finished his shower and inspected his back to find four long lines going from his upper to lower back.

Just my luck..he thought. After drying off and getting in bed, it was hard for him to get to sleep. Images of Xavier and the other werewolves reappeared in his head. Images of what could’ve happened, hat they not needed him, also occurred. After much stirring around in bed, he finally managed to close his eyes without images popping up, and peacefully sleep.

The next day passed without complications. Izaick awoke, his parents already gone off to work, and chilled around the house for most of the morning, went to go see a movie with his best friend Jacob and some others just after noon, and was back home later that evening after hanging out over Jacob’s house for a few hours. His parents were still not home when Izaick returned, which would make it easier for him to get out and head to the place where he was supposed to meet Xavier. But Izaick still wasn’t exactly sure about the whole ordeal. Why was he doing this? He was born a human, and should die one too. He didn’t even really know too much about werewolves, besides what Xavier told him.

He looked at the tall clock above the fireplace. It read 7:30. Xavier told him to meet up at eight, which only gave him a half hour to decide.

Fifteen minutes passed in his thought, and he finally decided that he would become a werewolf, for his own sake. If he refused Xavier again, they would probably kill him. Who could predict a werewolf?

Izaick took out the piece of paper given to him the day before with the address on it. He recognized the address. It was a closed warehouse about ten minutes away. It used to be a shoe making factory, but was shut down about seven years ago. The streets were quiet, and only lit by an every so often streetlight. Izaick walked for about ten minutes before the old factory came into view. In the dark it looked mysterious and haunted, with smashed windows and barren trees swaying about in the night breeze. Izaick spotted a large door with a white sign over it that read “CLOSED”. But he could see dim lights, probably candles, flickering from inside, and possibly silhouettes of the people inside.

Izaick.”

Izaick spun around to find Xavier with his hands in his pockets.

Oh, I didn’t know you were there..”

Didn’t mean to scare ya. So, you ready for this?”

Ready as I’ll ever be..”

Hey, don’t sweat it. You’ll be the best out there. Probably better than me. And I’ve got your back”

Izaick nodded slowly, thoughts still racing through his head.

Well, everyone’s waiting for you inside, so lets get started.”

He followed Xavier through the doors. As the two males entered the grand, old doors of the warehouse, a cool breeze greeted them, along with the attention of about 100 pairs of eyes. They were all werewolves, Izaick could tell, because their eyes shone with brilliant color, unnatural for a human, unless they wore fashionable contacts, which was highly unlikely. They didn’t look fearsome, nor did they carry negative expressions. They all examined Izaick with respect and anticipation. They must have been waiting a while for a new, willing recruit to come along.

Oh, and for some reason, 90% of the story came out small font, and I can't fix it cause there's a whole bunch of hTML coding that I dont want to mess up (i copy/pasted from OpenOffice) soo, sorry bout that.
